சுவிசேஷத்தை பிரபலமாக்குதல்

Advancing the Gospel

Philippians 1:12-15
In the past, missionaries who spread the gospel boarded ships to go to a foreign land and did not expect to see their homeland again.
Their goodbyes were final to their friends and family. There was no turning back.
Today we have the technology advanced much, yet, for those who are pioneering still require a high level of sacrifice, count the cost so that they can press through the frontiers of spiritual darkness.
These are to reach people who are neglected, new people groups, people who are oppressed.
When we consider paul who was imprisoned, Many of us might get to the mode of bitterness and might give up.
But Paul saw this as an opportunity to share the gospel.
He recognizes that in God obstacles are really opportunities, and nothing can really imperil the gospel.
That is an amazing declaration when you think about it.
When Paul was with the Philippians, there were amazing examples of the sovereign power of God, a divine jail-break, and their vindication before civil magistrates (Acts 16:11-40).
The circumstances around Paul’s imprisonment and his manner in the midst of it made it clear to all observers that he was not just another prisoner, but that he was an emissary of Jesus Christ.
This witness led to the conversion of many, even some of the palace guards.
Paul knew that some preached because they wanted to “surpass” Paul in ministry and to promote their own name and place it above Paul’s.
Ambition isn’t necessarily bad; there is nothing wrong in wanting to be the best we can be for God.
But selfish ambition is most concerned about a successful image, instead of striving for true success before God.
During this difficult time, let us live and speak fearlessly for Christ and for the sake of the Gospel. when we do that we encourage others to do the same. Let us not do anything out of selfish ambitions but with a selfless attitude to share the gospel with those who need it the most.
When we do that we can see with our own eyes what God did in Rome through paul can happen amongst us.
Prayer:
Father, I pray that I recognize that confidence doesn't come by some effort to convince myself, some struggle to think positively, but from a quiet resting upon an unchangeable fact — that Jesus Christ lives His life within me, and that He is quite competent to meet every situation.

Let God parents us
In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
With lockdown, multiple and staggered schedules, managing the house today seems a much tougher job along with raising children than what our parents would have done.
In today`s scenario, yes we might feel overwhelmed too.
The challenge today is how many Yes do we say and how many No per day.
The children today have become very agile, active, and highly demanding to our capacity.
They are ahead of us in progress and growth, mentally, socially, and intellectually.
The culture from their peers seems to shape their thoughts today, like our generation, however, today they are faced with the daunting task of finding the right culture.
We have one culture at home, they have to cope up with another culture at schools and universities. They must also learn how to cope with multiple cultures.
The influence of music such a k-pop, J-pop, English pop culture, dress code, and much more.
As a result, parents face daunting and often discouraging tasks. But, t’s not a new challenge.
Even in biblical times, the apostle Paul advised that “the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. 1 Corinthians 3:19.
Wise men and women including fathers and mothers have never set their hearts or hopes on values that govern a culture.
Instead, they fix on the eternal values of the world above, knowing that the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:25.
You can win the battle for your kids.
A good start is to focus on the eternal goal and trust the mighty power of God will overrule all cultures through your persistent prayer.
You are not alone as a parent. Let us pray together and win together as parents.
Have a blessed time with your family.

The Husband

Ephesians 5:22-33
The Husband
There was once a Christian counselor who met with a man who was having difficulty in his marriage. With sensitivity to the man’s concerns, the counselor told him that the answer was to love his wife just as commanded in Ephesians 5:25.
The troubled husband replied that he just could not do that since he felt no affection toward his wife.
The counselor then said the solution was for the man to move next door to the house his wife was living in and love her as a neighbor.
This perplexed the husband until the counselor said that if he was having difficulty loving his wife, or the neighbor, then love her as your enemy.
What is revealing about this encounter is how our culture conceptualizes that love differs from the biblical view.
The husband accepted the cultural conviction that love equals feeling affection and is something that happens to us outside of our control.
Scripture teaches that love is primarily an action, something we do more than something we feel.
God’s Word does not tell husbands to love their wives only when they feel like it.
They have a duty to love their wives sacrificially. This is how God loves us, for while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8)
Scripture gives clarity to the husband on how to love his wife just as Christ loves the church. He must be willing to lay his life on the line for her.
He must cherish her so much that he helps her grow even more beautiful just as Christ works to present His bride to the Father without spot or blemish.
Loving her this much means that he will never forbid her to do anything that God commands or commands her to do anything that God forbids.
It also means that he will remember that she is a person and not to be cruel, sarcastic or look down over when decisions are made.
He will respect her opinion and work to compromise when necessary.
The two will not agree at times and in these cases, the wife is called to submit as she does not sin by doing so.
We must understand when the husband fulfills his role, the other will find it less difficult to fulfill hers.
The husband will more easily love the wife who respects him, and the wife will more easily submit to the husband who loves her as Christ does.
Let us together fulfill our roles so that our spouses will fulfill theirs.
Let us Pray:
Heavenly Father, As husband as a wife, help us to fulfill the role as we are called, understanding one another. In Jesus Name. Amen.

The WIFE

The WIFE
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Ephesians 5:22–24
This passage contains some of the clearest biblical teachings on the duties of wives.
Firstly, the passage talks about authority.
Over the past few decades have seen huge effort to overturn the meaning of this text and the authority. Some people reject it entirely.
We as believers cannot be picky about a few verses, rather understand that all Scriptures, including those written by Paul are God-breathed, authoritative, and sufficient (2 Tim 3:16–17).
We must note that Husbands and wives are to serve one another according to the principle of mutual Christian service, but the form this service takes is gender specific.
Thus, Ephesians 5:21 cannot be used to deny male headship and authority at home.
Wives serve their husbands by submitting to them (Eph 5:22-24).
Husbands serve their wives not by submitting to them but by leading them and by loving them with a sacrificial love in imitation of the way that Christ loves the church (Eph 5: 25–33).
Since Ephesians 5:22–24 does not call for mutual submission but instructs wives to submit to their own husbands, husbands are given a leadership role in their homes.
But note that a wife is to submit to her own husband (5: 22).
This means that wives are not commanded to submit to all men but only to their husbands and any other figure who holds a lawful place of authority in the church or in the world.
In this second kind of submission, they are no different from their husbands, who must also submit to lawful authorities.
Wifely submission is a particular submission, one in which she obeys the Christian obligation to serve within the parameters of the marital covenant.
Wives must follow the leading of their husbands, not every man in this world.
A husband’s authority is not absolute.
The wife submits to her husband “as to the Lord” (Eph 5:22); thus, she follows his direction unless he does not ask her to sin.
There are innumerable applications that flow from this call to wise submission.
Within the family structure, husbands are accountable to the Lord because they lead their homes, and wives are accountable to God for submitting to their husbands’ authority.
Husbands should not be concerned primarily with the duties of their wives, and wives should not be attentive chiefly to the demands the Lord gives to their husbands.
They should rather focus on their own responsibilities and seek to be faithful in them.
Let us Pray:
Heavenly Father, we submit ourselves as husbands and wives to the headship of the lord Jesus Christ. Help us to understand the role ad appreciate each other. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Blessings & Prayers

Ephesians 5:25-27 | The Holy Church
Church as a Bride goes back to the Old Testament understanding of Yahweh as Israel's betrothed husband (Isaiah 54:5, Hosea 2:19-20)
Paul notes that Christ's goal as the church's husband is to present the church to himself in splendor. Christ desires the church to stand before Him in brilliance and triumph.
His desire is for believers to one day appear before Him without any flaws or marks or imperfections.
Particularly on the wedding day, the bride would prepare herself for her wedding by a special bridal bath, by putting on beautiful clothing, and by keeping herself pure for her husband.
Christ wants the church to look its best for Him when that day comes.
We must understand what the Bible teaches about the church is the key for fulfilling our high calling as the bride of Christ.
Sometimes it is hard to believe that the church is a holy body, a communion of believers. That is because we hear so often indignities in the church that reveal its abiding sin.
Ministers commit moral failures. Laypeople squabble over minor issues and church bodies split. The list goes on.
The purpose of Christ's relationship with the church is to bring on greater holiness. The reference to blemishes is not about physical appearance, but about the church is pure before the Lord.
To be holy is to be set apart. To be without blemish is to be without a mark or problem. Like the animals used in sacrificial offerings in OT, they could not have any blemish. Likewise, God desires we come before Him with a clean heart (Psalm 24:4).
Hence, we are called to hold our standards high when we serve the Lord, approaching every day of our life with reverence , keeping high moral standards as God expects being pure in mind body and soul.
Let us Pray: Dear Lord, help us to be holy and pure before the eyes of the lord. Not in human standards, but pure without blemish for your service. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Love With Knowledge

Philippians 1:7-11
Love With Knowledge
7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Have you ever longed to meet a friend with whom you share fond memories? He has a similar feeling exhibited here. His love for them is not merely based on his experience with them, but with the unity that comes when we draw strength from Christ`s Love.
We all are part of God`s family through Christ Jesus, and thus share the power of his transformative love. Do you feel the deep love for fellow believers, friends, and strangers alike?
Let the love of Christ motivate you to love others and to express the love in your actions towards them.
That means there is some resulting activity — love in action! This was needed in Philippi, and we need it wherever we live as well, that our love may abound in activity.
Otherwise, it's as James says, faith without works is dead. If love doesn't show itself in some action, then it's not real love.
Often, the best way to influence someone is to pray for them. Paul’s prayer for them is that they will be unified in love. Their love is not based on feelings, but on the deeper knowledge of what Christ has done for them and the in depth insight of moral discernment that the mind and heart must grow together. Heb 5:14 gives us insight into moral discernment.
We need solid food as we mature, and by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Paul knew the danger of an undiscerning love. He rebuked the Corinthian church that seemed to glory in their “love” and “openness” which lacked any sense of knowledge and discernment (1 Corinthians 5:1-7).
Paul continues, that it was love that could approve the things that are excellent. When we approve and receive the things that are excellent, we become sincere, by these things Christ`s love becomes increasingly evident in our life until Jesus comes.
He reminds us that the work of becoming sincere and without offense is really God’s work within us. It happens as we are filled with the fruits of righteousness.
Bearing fruit is always the result of abiding in Jesus (John 15:4-6). As we abide in Him, we receive the life and nutrients we need to naturally bear fruit to the glory and praise of God.
Ask yourself:
Are our lives as Christ's disciples motivated and governed by His love?
Do we seek wisdom and insight from the Holy Spirit in the study of the Word and in prayer?
Let us Pray:
Father, you are the One of whom it is said, God is love. Let our experience more and more of your love. Through love let my life and all my actions be defined. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Where is Your Confidence?
Philippians 1:3-6
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Paul begins his letter with words thanking God for the Philippians’ “partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
His love for this congregation was exemplified in his regular prayers for them.
One of the chief grounds of this affection was the Philippian's eagerness to work with the apostle in gospel ministry.
an artist called a friend in and asked him to comment on a picture he was painting. He said this is my masterpiece.
It is beautiful. The man said I guess I don't see what you see. It just looks like dabs of different colors to me, without form or anything. The artist said, Oh I forgot.
I'm seeing it as it will be when finished. You are seeing it as it is now.
Paul's joy in these people at Philippi was that he was seeing them by faith.
Not as they were, but as they would be when God's work was done. He was looking at them with the eye of faith. He was sure that He who began a good work in them was going to finish it.
He was seeing these Christians as they would be and he thanks God it's going to happen.
Many times, when we are discouraged, utterly despair of being what we must be doing. But we must be aware of the deceitfulness and subtlety of the flesh.
Even when we want to do what we are called to do, we end up deceiving ourselves. we find ourselves to be in utter sense of futility for the work of the gospel is dependent upon us largely.
In those moments, let us try to remember this verse, being confident of this very thing that He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah !!
What a comforting Verse - in our times of despair. It elevates our spirit to skyrocket for the faith that paul wishes we all have.
Sometimes we don't want to be what God wants us to be, but it's being done in us despite us being reluctant.
God knows how to bring us into the circumstances that will make us willing to be made willing if He needs to. It's a great consolation to recognize in whose hands we are.
The impression we get often is that our main task is to keep Christianity going. This is absolutely incorrect. The early Christians gave the very clear impression that it was their faith in Christ that kept them going.
Some tell us that we can lose our Christian life, but if this is something we can lose, then it must be based on some human factor.
Rather, this rests upon a person who is capable of doing the work, and who has promised to complete it. Thanks be to God who is able to keep us from falling.
Joy is 'the serious business of heaven. It is a consequence of being preoccupied with the living and indwelling Christ, confident that He will complete His redeeming work in us and through us.
Are we there yet? No, but God isn't finished either.
Let us pray
Lord, keep me from the folly of thinking that it is the crusade I launch or the activity that I fulfill or my busyness that accomplishes your will today, rather than what I am in Jesus Christ, and all the love that you are flooding through my soul, into my experience and actions. Help me to understand that it's you who will help me accomplish what you desire of me. I submit. In Jesus' name. Amen.

In Christ Philippians 1:1-2
Have you ever received a letter, perhaps two or three pages long, and had to flip through the pages to see the name at the end before you knew who the letter was from?
The ancient practice of correspondence had one very distinct advantage. They signed their name at the beginning of the letter.
The word means Saints refers to separated ones. Believers are separated from all that is profane and set apart or reserved for God and His use. Because we are separated from evil, we are morally pure and holy.
Paul has a much more personal approach to this church than to the church in Galatia, Ephesus, or the church at Corinth.
All formality was dropped in this letter. One notable variation here is that Paul included Timothy’s name because Timothy was an important gospel coworker in and around Philippi and a trusted corroborating witness to the truths Paul expounded.
They have recognized their position with Jesus Christ as His servants.
Paul is saying in this, that he is free of sin, but servant or slave to Christ. This denotes a willing slave who was happily and loyally linked to his master.
1 Corinthians 7:22 For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave.
In Christ was the source of their lives and. As Paul mentions in this letter, there are four major propositions that govern the Christian life.
There was a time when we all were (1) without Christ, strangers, far-off, without any inheritance of our own.
As Paul has written to the Ephesians, we were under the control of the God of this age, driven about by forces of which we were unaware, and we entered into the same concepts and lies that brainwash people everywhere. We were without Christ.
Then there came a time as with these Christians when we were (2) in Christ, that is, we entered into His Life and His Life entered into us by faith in His work and in His person.
As mentioned, He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6)
We became personally (3) related to the living God. We didn't merely exercise faith in what He did or said. We knew Him.
We became (4) part of Him, a vital part of His life. We were in Christ. We say, To live is Christ and to die is gain” (1:21)
If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. All things become new.
Philippians gives us a deeper understanding of What we can do in Christ. “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (4:13)
Paul knew, as did the Philippians, that true joy comes only through humble faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ, joining ourselves in harmony with His followers, and serving others in the name of Christ.
This was the life experienced by the Philippian believers, and it is a life available to us today.
Allow the joy you find in Christ to keep you from useless quarrels and divisions and to instead guide you into harmonious relationships with God’s people.
Let us Pray:
Dear Lord, Thank you for the Life that we have in Christ. Let your grace be abundantly evident in our lives. Let our lives be guided by your word to live in harmony. In Jesus Name. Amen.
